Our scholarship application is open year-round for students pursuing career and technical education programs less than 12 months in length. For programs longer than 12 months, our application is open from January 1 to March 1 each year. We are eager to get the word out to as many students as possible and your help is essential to making this happen!
Too few students are pursuing education in career training and as a result there are millions of vacant jobs nationwide because there are not enough skilled workers to accept them. Like you, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation believes that career technical education is pivotal for our society. Our organization is passionate about increasing this number through awareness and connecting with people like you. We are a financial need scholarship and we award scholarships to every eligible applicant. Opportunity to graduate from college debt free! This application requires a huge amount of time and detail, but pays VERY, VERY well to the students who are awarded scholarships. January 4 - GE-Reagan Foundation
Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study, and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program. To be eligible for this award, applicants must: Demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship; demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent); demonstrate financial need; be citizens of the United States of America; be high school seniors attending high school in the United States, or any of the U.S. territories and commonwealths and graduating in winter 2018 or spring 2019. This scholarship is offered to applicants who are both a graduating senior and a customer of Great Plains Communications.
Applicant must be a graduating senior and a customer of Great Plains Communications and subsidiaries. Applicant must be accepted for admission at a Nebraska state or private college to pursue a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, to a Nebraska one- or two- year trade or technical school, to Northwest Technical Institute of Goodland, Kansas, or Mitchell Technical Institute of Mitchell, South Dakota for the fall term of the year the scholarship is awarded. Applicant must have a very strong desire to return to their hometown (or other Great Plains Communications community) to pursue their career. Applicant must explain career goals. February 5 - Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Scholarship
The NRCSA Scholarship honors excellence in member schools. Applicants MUST be planning to enter the field of education. (I.E. teacher, counselor or media specialist may apply.) Applicant must have a scholastic equivalency of a 3.5 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale. This applicant must have an ACT composite of 22 or SAT of 1030. (Math and Critical Reading composite only) Selection will be based on the following criteria: quality/neatness of application, academic achievement, level of involvement in activities, student goals, financial need, leadership, character, initiative, and school/community involvement. Application MUST include three letters of recommendation, to include one administrator, one counselor, and one teacher. The applicant may choose to submit one additional letter of recommendation from a person of his/her own choosing. Letters must contain information about leadership, character, initiative, and school/community involvement. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Number of Scholarships: A total of fourteen (14) $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded. Only one (1) male and female application per school will be accepted. Applications will be reviewed by the SEM Scholarship Committee.

Requirements:
- Be a resident of Nebraska
- Residency is determined by the institution where you enroll

- Achieve at least a 2.5 cumulative unweighted GPA in high school
- 2.5 on a 4 point scale
- 83 on a 100 point scale
- Be a first-time freshman when entering college
- Students obtaining dual enrollment credits in high school are still eligible to apply
- Nebraska Community Colleges - CCC, MCC, MPCC, NECC, SCC, or WNCC;
- Nebraska State College System - Chadron State, Peru State, Wayne State; or
- University of Nebraska - NCTA, UNK, UNL, UNMC, or UNO
- Be in need of financial assistance in order to attend school
- Note: Students do not need to be Pell Grant eligible to qualify
- Students must have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) below $10,000

February 15 - Sydney Loofe Memorial Scholarship
Sydney Loofe was raised in Neligh, Nebraska. She moved to Lincoln, Nebraska after high school. She was reported missing on November 16, the day after she went on a date with someone from Tinder. Her body was found 19 days later in a rural area in Clay County. The tragedy took Sydney from her friends and family much too soon. George and Susie Loofe, parents of Sydney, decided to partner with us and advocate for the cause to prevent situations like this from happening, teaching the community how to recognize when there could be malicious intent involved when communicating with others. This scholarship is presented by The Set Me Free Project in honor of Sydney Loofe and her family. The Set Me Free Project brings prevention education to youth and families to stop trafficking before it starts. Please remember Sydney by reading her story on our website. February-15 Becton Dickinson Technical Education Scholarship(BD) of Holdrege/Phelps Foundation
A $16,000 scholarship will be granted to one applicant each year to be distributed between the students first two years of college. To Qualify: Enroll in a technical or trade school and studying one of the following fields of study: Electronics Programming, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Tool and Die, Molding Processing. Must have a GPA of 2.0 or better. Other considerations will include consistent involvement in extracurricular activities, church activities, and community service, and/or have demonstrated commitment and responsibility through work experience. The successful recipient will have the opportunity to work at BD of Holdrege during academic breaks and non-school periods receiving intern wages. Recipients of this scholarship award must commit to working two years at Becton Dickinson following graduation.

February-18 Associated Staffing Skilled Trades Scholarship Fund GRAND ISLAND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
This scholarship fund was established for the benefit of graduating high school seniors or nontraditional students pursuing a certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree in a skilled trade field of study from an accredited institution of higher education located in the state of Nebraska. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or non-traditional college students residing within the Associated Staffing office trade areas as defined below.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Must be a graduating high school senior or non-traditional college student residing in Adams, Boone, Buffalo, Butler, Cass, Clay, Colfax, Custer, Dawson, Douglas, Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Kearney, Madison, Merrick, Phelps, Platte, Polk, Sarpy, Saunders, Sherman, Stanton, or Washington County in Nebraska.
2. Must be enrolled as a fulltime student pursuing a certificate (minimum 12 credit hour program), diploma (minimum 23 credit hour program), or associate’s degree in a skilled trade field from an accredited trade school or college in Nebraska.
3. High school graduate or GED earner.
4. Preference given to applicants possessing demonstrated commitment to extracurricular school volunteer activities and/or community volunteer involvement.
Number and Amount of Scholarships: One $500.00 scholarship will be awarded annually within the specified trade area of each Associated Staffing office location (i.e. 5 locations x $500.00 each = $2,500.00 annual disbursement). In the event a lack of qualified applications is received during any award cycle for one (or more) specified Associated Staffing office trade area(s), the $500.00 disbursement designated for that specific office/trade area(s) will be awarded during the same award cycle to the overall highest ranked alternate candidate(s) from other Associated Staffing location applicant pools.

February 28 - NORALL SCHOLARSHIP TRUST
It is the intent that multiple scholarships will be awarded annually with an emphasis placed on medical courses of study.
Eligibility for application is limited to past graduates of high schools in Dawson County who are enrolling or are enrolled in a U. S. College. Each applicant will be evaluated as to goal commitment, academic success, recommendations, financial need, and the priorities as follows:
Program of Study
1. Medical Field
2. All Other
Precedence will be given to those students who plan to return to Dawson County upon the completion of their education.
This scholarship is available for students of graduate or undergraduate level. The undergraduate may be enrolled in either the standard 4-year academic college, Junior/Community College, or enrolled in a certified Vocational-Technical Program.
The number and amount of each scholarship will vary due to the annual earnings of the trust, as well as, due to the nature of the annual applicants as to educational program levels, financial needs, and academic levels.

February 28 - Buckle Excellence Scholarships
Since 1948, Buckle has been providing a place for young men and women with an interest in clothing, to dress, accessorize, and express themselves through their style! It has also been a place that has provided many people a rewarding, and fulfilling career. Now, through the “Buckle Excellence Scholarship Fund”, Buckle is providing a new kind of opportunity for young men and women headed to college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The American Legion, Department of Nebraska Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship is awarded to the Eagle Scout who best meets the qualifications outlined in the Nomination Application and will advance to national competition for the chance to receive a $10,000 scholarship. Three second-place scholarship awards will be given in the amount of $2,500 each. Scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive their scholarships immediately upon graduation from a state accredited high school (public, parochial, military, private, or home school) and must utilize the total award within four (4) years of their graduation date, excluding active military duty.

- The submission and content of a 200 word maximum essay responding to the question “How do you see agriculture in the future and how will you fit in that picture?”
- Involvement in non-academic activities.
- The receipt and content of two “Statements of Character”; one to be completed by a member of the applicant’s school administration and the other by someone outside of the school system.
- Submission of the applicants’ class (grade ) transcript; for the purpose of reviewing the curriculum completed, and as such, grades need not be a part of the transcript.

March 27 - FAIRVIEW VETERINARY CLINIC SCHOLARSHIP will be presented to a student from the Fairview practice area (including Lexington, Cozad, Elwood, SEM, and Overton) with the intention to become a veterinarian, veterinary technician or majoring in agriculture related field. Preference will be given to students studying to become a Veterinarian or Veterinarian Technician. The Eastern Star Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) graduating High School Senior who intends to further their post-secondary education. This $500 scholarship will be payable to the college/university/school at which the student is enrolled as a full-time student at the start of the second semester.

- Must be a graduating senior of Ft. Kearny Conference which at this time includes: Amherst, Axtell, Elm Creek, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Loomis, Overton, Pleasanton, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller and Wilcox-Hildreth
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) in undergraduate study or enrolled in graduate study at the University of Nebraska-Kearney pursuing a degree in education.
